#whatonwhatsgood Express Review (by: Jovin Tardif)

"The series, 'WeCrashed', is about the rise and fall of 'WeWork' run by the founding trio Israeli creator/entrepreneur Adam Neumann (Jared Leto), architect/co-founder of WeWork Miguel McKelvey (Kyle Marvin), and Neumann’s wife Rebekah Paltrow-Neumann (Anne Hathaway).

WeWork's business model is based on "community". The goal is to change the way people work and live.  What could possibly go wrong?

The first three episodes of the Apple TV+ series focus on the couple behind WeWork.  Will their love get in the way of the company?

The story is based on the hit podcast 'WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork'.

You might also want to check out Hulu’s 2021 documentary 'WeWork: or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn'.

If you like 'Inventing Anna' (Netflix), 'Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber' (Showtime), or 'The Dropout' (Hulu), you might want to check out this series."

Executive Producer Anne Hathaway who plays "Rebekah Neumann" discusses 'WeCrashed'

"It's about 2 of the founders of WeWork Rebekah Neumann, who I play, and Adam Neumann played by Jared Leto. Without their love story, there never would have been a WeWork.

We wanted to examine through the lens of a love story.

I thought that was a really interesting opportunity."

Cricket Brown discusses her character "Chloe" and working with Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway

"Chloe is a young millennial who is hired to work at WeWork.  She puts a lot of time and energy into the company.

I feel really lucky to have been able to watch them and work with them.   I felt really uplifted by their skill.

WeCrashed is chaotic...it's a mirror and it is present."

Drew Crevello (Showrunner / Creator / Writer / Executive Producer) & Lee Eisenberg  (Showrunner / Creator / Writer / Executive Producer) discuss WeCrashed

"WeCrashed is the story of the rise and fall of New York that started with one location and turned into a company that was valued at $47,000,000,000.  It was the third most valuable privately-owned company in the world.

It's really the love story at the center of it, between Adam and Rebecca

It's based on a podcast of the same name.

It's like a rollercoaster ride.

You get this sort of the thrill of the rise as you're going up to the top, and then the absolute terror and thrill as you're falling. It's really kind of an incredible ride, even though it's called WeCrashed."

Glenn Ficarra (Executive Producer / Director) & John Requa (Executive Producer / Director) discusses WeCrashed

"WeWork doesn't happen without Rebecca.  They emboldened each other and empowered each other.

We are always kind of attracted to characters that are sort of delusional.  And then those delusions become real. We were also attracted to kind of strange love stories. This has both."

Executive Producer Jared Leto who plays "Adam Neumann" discusses WeCrashed and working with Anne Hathaway

"...Really compelling character, colorful character, fascinating story.  I love the fact that it was so recent and relevant. I'd never done anything like that before.  It was so modern and I'm fascinated by an immigrant who built a company from nothing into a $47,000,000,000 empire."

It's an examination of his greatest successes and some pretty big failures.

She's a legend.  She's one of the best. A real actor. She's the perfect partner in crime."

Kyle Marvin discusses his character "Miguel McKlevey"

"Miguel is a struggling architect who partnered up with Adam Neumann.  He's a very sensible very sort of like pragmatic person."

Marshall Lewy (Executive Producer) discusses WeCrashed

"Anne Hathaway is Rebekah Neumann was our dream choice.

Jared Leto same thing...I mean you just couldn't do any better than those two.

It's about the fire of their love and how that brings the company to its knees."

Natalie Sandy (Executive Producer) discusses WeCrashed

"If you believe in each other, you can accomplish anything. This is that times 1,000,000.

It's two people who believe so fiercely in each other, and the power that they can as a unit. They can do no wrong. How far are they willing to go? How far are we willing to go to kind of join them on that journey?"

O-T Fagbenle who plays "Cameron Lautner" discusses WeCrashed

"WeCrashed is a roller coaster.  I don't want to spoil things. I'm a bit of a foil to Adam Neumann. I'm kind of like the thorn in the side. I do thorny-type things. Lots of people bought into the hype of this very charismatic man but my character didn't. I'm kind of there to kind of straighten out the mysteries of the man."

Theo Stockman who plays "Jacob" discusses working with Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway

"I really had a blast. I really loved working with Jared and Anne.  Anne is just a sweetheart. She is so talented. She would hang out and talk between takes to get to know one another."
