Film Review: The Man from Toronto (2022)

The Man from Toronto (2022) Columbia Pictures, Bron Creative, Escape Artists Netflix Release date June 24, 2022 #whatonwhatsgood Express Review (by: Jovin Tardif) The Man From Toronto is a decent action flick.  I must say Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson work very well together in this action-comedy film. Basically in this movie, you have a case of mistaken identity. Let's just say that Teddy Jackson (Kevin Hart), an out of work gym membership salesman, walked into the wrong room and now everyone thinks he is the world’s deadliest killer,  “The Man from Toronto”. (MFT)  What will happen when "The Man from Toronto" (Woody Harrelson) meets Teddy?    The other cast members (Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fode, Jencarlos Canela, and Ellen Barkin) really add some excitement to the storyline.   Let's hope Hart and Harrelson can team up again on another adventure. Directed by Patrick Hughes Screenplay by Robbie Fox and Chris Bre...

National Champions (2021) Thunder Road Films STXfilms Release date: 12/10/2021 My Rating: 7/10 #whatonwhatsgood Fan Club Rating: 60% #whatonwhatsgood Express Review (by: Jovin Tardif) Just a heads up, you won't be seeing any football in this film.  Ric Roman Waugh's "National Champions" is a sports drama that focuses on the business side of football.   72 hours before the championship game, quarterback LeMarcus James (Stephan James) and Emmett Sunday (Alexander Ludwig) begin a players' strike hours before the biggest game of the year.   The reason ... players are suffering devastating injuries while generating billions in revenue for their schools. Does this seem fair? Filmed entirely at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans, head coach James Lazor (J. K. Simmons), Lil Rel Howery (Coach Ronnie Dunn), Tim Blake Nelson (Rodger Cummings), Andrew Bachelor (Taylor Sheridan), Jeffrey Donovan (Mark Titus), David Koechner (Richard Everly) and Uzo Aduba (Katherine Poe) scra...
