Abby Ryder Fortson - "Margaret"
"I think the thing that really drew me to the project was the feeling that we can all connect to the story of Margaret. We are all going through that time in our lives when we're figuring things out and trying to build the pieces of ourselves together.
That's what I really connected with, and as soon as I read it. I knew that this was the kind of project that I wanted to be a part of."
Kelly Fremon Craig - Director & Julie Ansell - Producer
"Abby, who plays Margaret is just...she's a revelation. She's gonna be a star. The kid is so good. Rachel McAdams is just incredible. Kathy Bates...I think this is maybe the funniest thing she's ever done."
Rachel McAdams - "Barbara Simon"
"It's such an iconic book. She has a lot of guilt of not being a stay-at home mom...especially in the 70s...she is sort of putting her art on the side so that she can be the perfect mom. She's grappling with a little bit of an identity crisis."

The Swimmers Working Title Films Netflix My Rating 6/10 #whatonwhatsgood Fan Club Rating 65% #whatonwhatsgood The Swimmers Express Review There's a war in Syria and Syrian swimmer Yusra Mardini (Nathalie Issa) and her sister, Sara (Manal Issa) decided they needed to leave. The film is really about survival. Can these girls really make it to Germany without being harmed? What will they need to do to get out of Syria safely? Overall, I think director Sally El Hosaini's' The Swimmers' did a fantastic job of telling this inspirational, heartfelt, and emotional true story. The film really shows what Yusra and Sara had to overcome along the way. The only flaw I saw in the movie was that I thought they rushed Yusra's journey to make it to the 2016 Rio Olympics. Boston Strangler 20th Century Studios, Scott Free Productions, LuckyChap Entertainment Hulu Release date March 17, 2023 Description Loretta McLaughlin was the reporter who broke the story of the Boston Strangler. Along with reporter Jean Cole, McLaughlin challenged the sexism of the era, pursuing the story at personal risk and uncovering corruption that cast doubt on the identity of the strangler. #whatonwhatsgood Express Review The Boston Strangler murdered 13 women in the Boston, Massachusetts area in the 1960s. The Boston Strangler movie follows Loretta McLaughlin (Keira Knightley) and fellow reporter Jean Cole (Carrie Coon) who are trying to get the story out about who is doing these crimes. Unfortunately, they are met with many challenges from men in order to tell their narrative. Boston Strangler is a decent film. I like the pairing of Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon. Black Ice First Take Entertainment, Uninterrupted Canada, Black Ice Productions Elevation Pictures Release date September 10, 2022 Black Ice #whatonwhatsgood Express Review (by: Jovin Tardif) In Hubert Davis's Black Ice, amateur and professional players discuss the racist abuse they faced while playing hockey. Hockey players talk about moments with fans, opponents, and coaches. In one instance in the film, Akim Ali shared an experience with his former coach Bill Peters. The coach came into the locker room when he heard music from Lil Wayne playing in the locker room. Peters came over aggressively to turn off the music. When Akim admitted that he was playing the music, Bill said a racial slur in front of some of the team. The documentary also has others like P.K. Subban, Make Dumba, Wayne Simmonds, Saroya Tinkerm, Mark Connors, and others discussing their struggles and experiences with racism and/or racist language. Black Ice Directed by Hub...

Missing: Dead or Alive? Blast Films Netflix #whatonwhatsgood Express Review Missing: Dead or Alive? follows a female-led missing persons unit as they work on cases from 2019 to 2021. The missing person cases included Lorraine Garcia, Amirah Watson, David Taylor, and Sierra Stevens. Overall, the show is decent. It felt a bit staged at times. It wasn't my favourite true crime series of the year, but it's worth watching if you need something to watch.
