Charlize Theron discusses her character Morticia
“When you first see Morticia, you can have pretty conceived ideas about who she might be, but deep down inside she's just a great mom who loves her family deeply and makes raising her kids and being the matriarch of the family her priority. The thing I love the most about her is that she's so unapologetic for the way she stands up for her kids while also standing up for the weirdness and the kind of dark — not what people consider normal or warm and fuzzy.”
Oscar Isaac discusses his character Gomez
“Gomez is a character that I've loved for such a long time, just as a fan reading Charles Addams's comics. Raul Julia is one of my biggest inspirations and seeing what he did with that character, I felt so honoured and lucky to get a chance to put my spin on it.”
Chloë Grace Moretz discusses her character Wednesday
“Wednesday is of course an angsty teenager; I think that goes without saying. But in this one, we really see her start to question where she fits into this family, and ultimately she feels different. So she starts to go on a path of self-discovery.”
Nick Kroll discusses his character Fester
“Fester like myself is going through a physical transformation. I'm just getting older. But in this case, Fester is going through a physical transformation. He’s becoming an octopus, I guess is the easiest way to say it. You could argue that he had watched the documentary My Octopus Teacher. But he has not watched that documentary. His body is slowly transforming and morphing into an octopus.”
