#whatonwhatsgood Express Review
Deadloch is an Australian comedy/crime show. It is set in a town called Deadloch, Tasmania. In the first episode, Trent Latham (Barry Wheeler) is found naked and dead on a beach. The question is can Sergeant Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and Det. Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami) work together to solve the mystery? It's a whodunnit. Enjoy!
Description
Deadloch is an eight-part crime comedy. When a local man turns up dead on a beach, two vastly different detectives are thrown together to solve the case. Deadloch puts a comedic spin on the crime genre, completely flipping it and challenging the tropes of the genre. It’s a compelling mystery with The Kates’ signature humour, and explores themes of truth, misogyny, gender, and race.
The series features a large ensemble cast led by Kate Box (Fires, Wentworth), Madeleine Sami (The Breaker Upperers), Nina Oyama (Utopia), Tom Ballard (Tonightly with Tom Ballard), Alicia Gardiner (Wakefield, Offspring), Susie Youssef (Rosehaven), Pamela Rabe (Wentworth) and more.
The first three episodes of Deadloch will premiere exclusively on Prime Video globally on Friday, June 2, with new episodes available each Friday, leading up to the season finale on Friday, July 7.

Dead loch is a Dead Loss - despite cast crew and their friends trying to pump up positive reviews on review sites and the prime video pr contrivance the genuine audience reactions are all very similar - dreadful writing and performances. Someone needs to teach the writers how a script works with beats to help direction of actors, this is a complete mess of different tempos.. great lens work, music and some lead actors are good while other actors in the same scene deliver silly broad farce .. a mess and waste of talented crew and cast .. the hubris of the writers and the producers delivers a dud..
ReplyDelete"Deadloch is a Dead Loss" -- this one line is funnier than the first episode!
DeleteI watched the first episode of Deadloch. It was a complete waste of my time.
Everyone should avoid this show.
Great series
ReplyDeleteSo funny and genuinely suspenseful, couldn't wait for the next episode. All the characters had hidden depths and in between the obvious jokes there were so many gems I had to keep rewatching.
