The Man from Toronto (2022) Columbia Pictures, Bron Creative, Escape Artists Netflix Release date June 24, 2022 #whatonwhatsgood Express Review (by: Jovin Tardif) The Man From Toronto is a decent action flick.  I must say Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson work very well together in this action-comedy film. Basically in this movie, you have a case of mistaken identity. Let's just say that Teddy Jackson (Kevin Hart), an out of work gym membership salesman, walked into the wrong room and now everyone thinks he is the world’s deadliest killer,  “The Man from Toronto”. (MFT)  What will happen when "The Man from Toronto" (Woody Harrelson) meets Teddy?    The other cast members (Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fode, Jencarlos Canela, and Ellen Barkin) really add some excitement to the storyline.   Let's hope Hart and Harrelson can team up again on another adventure. Directed by Patrick Hughes Screenplay by Robbie Fox and Chris Bre...

#cinqque5tion interview with Canadian indie alt-pop/rock artist JEEN with Host Jovin Tardif from What On What's Good Today on #whatonwhatsgood with Jovin Tardif, I am here with Canadian indie alt-pop/rock artist JEEN. In our interview we discuss musical idols, writing songs, attending a writing camp in London, England, discussing full-length LP 'Dog Bite' and much more. 1. What inspired you to start making music? I started singing at a really young age but I remember seeing the Woodstock documentary when I was like 13 years old. It basically changed my entire perspective on life. Couple years later, I quit school and joined a band. 2. Some of your idols include The Who, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Beastie Boys, Jane's Addiction, Nirvana. Can you tell us a favourite song and why?  " Summertime Rolls ” by Jane’s Addiction: That song sounds just like the title. Perry Farrell is a god imo. " Wish You Were Here " by Pink Floyd is a dream and David Gilmour is als...

National Champions (2021) Thunder Road Films STXfilms Release date: 12/10/2021 My Rating: 7/10 #whatonwhatsgood Fan Club Rating: 60% #whatonwhatsgood Express Review (by: Jovin Tardif) Just a heads up, you won't be seeing any football in this film.  Ric Roman Waugh's "National Champions" is a sports drama that focuses on the business side of football.   72 hours before the championship game, quarterback LeMarcus James (Stephan James) and Emmett Sunday (Alexander Ludwig) begin a players' strike hours before the biggest game of the year.   The reason ... players are suffering devastating injuries while generating billions in revenue for their schools. Does this seem fair? Filmed entirely at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans, head coach James Lazor (J. K. Simmons), Lil Rel Howery (Coach Ronnie Dunn), Tim Blake Nelson (Rodger Cummings), Andrew Bachelor (Taylor Sheridan), Jeffrey Donovan (Mark Titus), David Koechner (Richard Everly) and Uzo Aduba (Katherine Poe) scra...

#newmusic4yourears #whatonwhatsgood Week of February 25, 2022 1. Jane’s Party ft. Shawnee Kish Janes's Party members include Jeff Giles (keys/guitar/vocals), Tom Ionescu (guitar/vocals), Devon Richardson (bass/vocals), and Zach Sutton (drums). New Hockey Night In Canada Theme Song ' Saturday Night '  Shawnee Kish   “Recording vocals on ‘Saturday Night’ was an absolute blast. Singing the lyrics while thinking about the song's job of pumping up each game, hockey fans in the stadium and viewers sitting at home ready for hockey night had me singing all out. Feeling really lucky to be a part of this song and Hockey Night in this way.”  Tom Ionescu (guitar/vocals) “It was quite a wild ride, grabbing Shawnee’s vocals from Alberta, Zach’s drums from LA, Jeff’s vocals and keyboards from Newfoundland, then recording, producing, and assembling the track in Toronto in just two weeks. That kind of timeline gets the blood pumping which was the perfect feeling needed for this ruckus ...
