#whatonwhatsgood Express Review (by: Jovin Tardif) - Episode 1 to Episode 4

The series follows Englishman Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac). He works at a gift shop in a museum in London.  When Steven goes home, he chains himself to his bed. You will have to watch the series to see why.  By the way, he is also American Marc Spector - the alpha part of his personality (Oscar Isaac).  He is a superhero who has a dissociative identity disorder.  Don't worry, it will all be explained in the show.

Arthur Harrow played by Ethan Hawke is an assistant to the Egyptian god Ammit.  His character is quite interesting.  Through touch, he can find out if people are good or bad.  If he finds out that they are evil, he kills them in the name of Ammit.

Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) is Marc's partner.  She is also an archaeologist.  Layla’s trying to find her father’s killer.

I must say it's quite fun watching Isaac’s performance. I'm looking forward to the final two episodes.

Quotes from Moon Knight Special Launch Event 3/22/2022

Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson - Directors

"Oh, my gosh! We were off shooting this movie for a huge chunk of our lives.

Well, I mean Oscar is America's favorite actor. He's also our favorite actor.  He's this spectacular performer and a really good guy."

Ann Akinjirin - "Bobby"

"I'm so proud to be in this show. It's such a privilege to be part of the Marvel Universe.

The themes in this show are really important.

In Moon Knight, every single character is brand new. You can be part of a brand new experience."

Antonia Salib - "Taweret"

"It's just a dream. I got cast in this for over a year now.

It's brilliant. The costumes were beautiful.

Getting to play an Egyptian character working with an Egyptian director because I'm Egyptian myself.  It was extra special.

I just can't wait for people to watch the show when it comes

It's such a cool comic.

I think fans who like the comic, they'll really appreciate what we've done with the series."

Brad Winderbaum - Executive Producer

"It's a great show.

It's a character we've never done before. It's a little dark....a little grittier...it's mysterious.

There's a lot going on in the show. We put a lot of heart and soul into it.

It's a very mysterious show. There's a lot that's revealed week after week."

David Ganly - "Billy"

"It's an honor to make people smile, scream and be shocked and furious.  This is why we got into this."

Ethan Hawke - "Arthur Harrow"

"It's so fun to see people excited. I mean it's what living is all about right?"

Fernanda Andrade - "Wendy Spector"

"I'm a huge fan of Oscar and of Ethan.  Getting to work with everybody and be in this world is just a dream come true.

I didn't really read a lot of comics but after I was introduced to it, I became really obsessed with it."

Grant Curtis - Executive Producer

"It's incredible to celebrate Moon Knight tonight.

This character first appeared in the pages of 'Werewolf By Night' in 1975.  It got its own comic in 1980.

We'll talk to Kevin Feige and see where this character goes next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We have the best fan base in the world at marvel studios and we don't take that for granted.

We know we got to keep giving them great stories."

Jeremy Slater - Writer

"The first year of the process was just me and the other writers just kind of sitting in a little windowless room at Marvel and sort of fantasizing about this day.

Back then, we didn't know who would star.  We didn't know what the costume would look like.

I'm really excited for people to see something different from the MCU.

It's definitely darker/weirder.  It's very psychological.

We really tried to make it sort of unpredictable.

Every episode has big twists, turns, and reveals.   It goes to some pretty, weird, unexpected places."

Karim El Hakim - "On-Set Khonshu"

"We had a fantastic experience in Budapest.

I think this series will be a huge hit.

I can assure you that there'll be lots of tricks, lots of surprises, and just a really great experience."

Kevin Feige - Executive Producer

"This was one of the top shows/ideas and characters that we wanted to bring to life.

It taps into Egyptology.

It's a very different type of hero who suffers a mental disorder (dissociative identity disorder) and how he struggles and overcomes that.

It needed an amazing actor. Oscar Isaac rolled up his sleeves and said: 'Let me jump into this' and the whole thing came to life.

I'm excited about the audience finally getting to see Oscar as this character.

This series is very much a mystery."

May Calamawy - "Layla"

"I'm grateful to represent the Middle East in Moon Knight."

Mohamed Diab - Director / Executive Producer

"This show belongs to the fans more than it belongs to me.  It's very important that they are satisfied.  I really want them to be happy.

Oscar is a genius."

Oscar Isaac - "Moon Knight"

"There was a lot of freedom because he's a pretty obscure character."

Rey Lucas - "Elias Spector"

"I grew up on Marvel Comics. I still have some of them.  It feels like being a kid. It's what inspired me to get into acting.  It's kind of a dream come true."

Shaun Scott - "Crawley"

"It's really exciting. Part of the hard work is, of course, trying to be up here really cool."

Sofia Danu - "Ammit"

"It's astonishing. It's really fascinating. To actually play one of these characters is really really exciting. It challenges you as an actress."

Victoria Alonso - Executive Producer

"I think that every new show is a new journey."
