Description

Children can be such monsters.

After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.

The Dropout Elizabeth Meriwether Pictures/Semi-Formal Productions/20th Television/Searchlight Television Disney Platform Distribution/Hulu Genre Drama #whatonwhatsgood Express Review (by: Jovin Tardif) 'The Dropout' tells the story of Elizabeth Holmes (Amanda Seyfried).   The series basically explores the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. Her goal was to create a blood diagnostic technology that will be able to run hundreds of tests on a single drop of blood.  Her technology never worked.   I must say, Amanda Seyfried does an amazing portrayal of Elizabeth Holmes.  The story allows you to see Holmes in high school, as a college freshman, and eventually a businesswoman. Becky (Erin Doherty) has a stressful life.  She is struggling with getting work, is low on funds, and dealing with a mother with dementia. In her spare time, she goes on her phone to keep an eye on social media.  She visits Instagram to essentially compare herself to others.  One of her favourites on Instagram is Chloe. One day, Becky (who likes to visit Chloe's Instagram account and is her most dedicated social media follower) finds out that Chloe dies. Apparently, she committed suicide and Becky wants to know why ... Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield) is just about the friendliest guy in the world.  I don't think anyone can dislike him.  Well one person can... Blast Films Netflix #whatonwhatsgood Express Review Missing: Dead or Alive? follows a female-led missing persons unit as they work on cases from 2019 to 2021.  The missing person cases included Lorraine Garcia, Amirah Watson, David Taylor, and Sierra Stevens. Overall, the show is decent. It felt a bit staged at times.  It wasn't my favourite true crime series of the year, but it's worth watching if you need something to watch.
