Actress Adriana Barraza discusses her character Lupita in "Bingo Hell"
“She’s a very energetic Mexican woman, a champion for justice, and an excellent friend. She’s also not afraid to physically confront people because she’s a barrio girl at heart, and I love that about her. There’s a stubbornness in Lupita that I admire, but a loneliness, too. She doesn’t have parents or children. All she has is her community, which is something I understood about her.”
Actor Richard Brake discusses his character Mr. Big in "Bingo Hell"
“The world of Bingo Hell was so beautifully crafted before I even showed up. The costume, makeup, and effects departments did an incredible job in helping me prepare for the role, and within a few hours of talking to them, Mr. Big just blossomed. He’s a mysterious, possibly supernatural character who arrives in town to finish the job that greed and gentrification have done to destroy the community. And he enjoys doing it!”
Director Gigi Saul Guerrero discusses Bingo Hell
“The inspiration for Bingo Hell grew out of me wanting to see old people kicking ass! I hadn’t seen older folks kicking butt in a movie since Cocoon or Batteries Not Included, and I thought it would be amazing to tie that in with bingo, which so many people can relate to.”
